Bauhaus logo revisited, 2014, silk print, digital print on cotton, drawing, video, performance,

Margaretebenitalou…
A conversation with a historian about the unequal conditions of the female students at the Bau haus School in Dessau, inspired me to make this work as a homage to them.
I appropriated the Bauhaus logo, which Oskar Schlemmer designed in 1922, and I made a limited series of silk prints with a red lipstick.
Starting point for the digital print on cotton was a drawing of the series.
I used the fabric for the scenography as well as for the costume for my performance.
